This CPD will cover an overview of drugs of abuse and misuse, the understanding of the mechanics behind addiction & dependence, and the principles of how to apply the SF framework with confidence in your sessions.

Working with client to support abstinence from drugs of misuse can be immensely satisfying for you as a therapist and life-changing for the client but it’s not something that was taught as part of the HPD CPHT course.

If you are interested in working with substance misuse clients but feel you lack the confidence to work effectively, then this one day workshop will give you the support you need.

Course Content

This CPD will cover an overview of drugs of abuse and misuse, the understanding of the mechanics behind addiction & dependence that can develop to them and the principles and practice tips of how to apply the SF framework with confidence in your sessions.

NO previous experience of substance abuse is required, and NO other subject-specific knowledge other than what the CPHT course covered as we will refresh and update your understanding of the neuroscience and brain based facts you need (and probably a bit more!) to feel able to practice in this area.
